The last of the Moto X models is finally getting the Android 4.4 KtiKat update starting today. Motorola has finally announced the beginning of the over-the-air (OTA) update rollout for Sprint customers. Interestingly, even though the U.S. Cellular model of the Moto X reportedly started getting the Android 4.4 update just over one week ago, Motorola is also including that in today’s announcement.

Sprint Moto X finally getting the Android 4.4 KiKat update

Motorola has been moving at break-neck speed on these updates. It pushed out the first update to Verizon models before Google had even begun the rollout to Nexus 4 handsets. Since then, it has released the KitKat updates for the AT&T, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular models of the device. Today’s update for the Sprint model completes the set and brings the same features as all the other updates. In addition to the new dialer, UI tweaks, and general KitKat goodies, Motorola has also added camera improvements to allow users to swipe for focus and exposure.
Now that the Moto X models have the Android 4.4 update, we assume that work will begin on bringing the bug fix updates (4.4.1 & 4.4.2) to the Moto X; and of course Motorola still needs to push KitKat to its DROID lineup.
